Search Basics

gumshoo™ produces a results page of eBay listings with auctions ending soonest near the top of the page. Here are some of the things that gumshoo™ does on your behalf when you search:
  • Finds the terms you enter along with common misspellings of those terms
  • Removes litings with junk titles like "This is not an iPod" or "Work at Home"
  • If requested, filters accessories from your search results
  • If requested, filters out used items to show you only new items

Optimize your searches in 3 easy steps:

  1. Enter your search.
Use keywords to describe what you are looking for, such as "Ipod Nano". Exclude words from your search by placing a "-" in front of the word (e.g. -black).
  2. Choose your category.
Most searches work just fine with this set to "All Categories" but if your search results are full of items that aren't quite right, try selecting a category. Note that choosing a category always gives you fewer search results, not more.
  3. Apply filters.
Filters are one of the best things about gumshoo™. They can save you lots of time and effort by eliminating items that don't meet your criteria. We recommend always using the "Junk" filter.
